On Monday, the Federal Capital Territory’s delegation for the 2023 Muslim pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, consisting of 4,384 pilgrims, has reached Mina to participate in the Hajj rituals and activities.
This information was communicated in a statement issued by Muhammad Sule, the Director of Information and Communication for the FCT, in Abuja.
The statement read, “The Chairman of the FCT Ministerial Team 2023/1444 A.H., Mallam Bashir Muhammad, made this disclosure Monday, at Mina, Saudi Arabia. Muhammad said that the FCT contingent was conveyed to Saudi Arabia via a total of 14 flights.”
The chairman emphasized that each Hajj exercise comes with its own set of challenges, and this year’s pilgrimage is no exception.
However, he reassured that the FCT contingent would uphold their reputation as good ambassadors of Nigeria.
He also mentioned that preparations were well underway to ensure a smooth movement of FCT pilgrims to the Arafat Plain on Tuesday.
Muhammad expressed appreciation to the FCTA authorities, particularly Mr. Olusade Adesola, the Permanent Secretary of the FCT, for their immense support to the FCT pilgrims.
Additionally, Mallam Abubakar Evuti, the Director of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, expressed optimism and confidence in the comprehensive arrangements made, anticipating a trouble-free Hajj exercise.
