Ace comedian Klint da Drunk has credited music legend 2Baba as the reason he abandoned his own musical aspirations.
Speaking in a recent interview with Naija FM, the comedian recalled his early days as a budding musician while studying at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu.
He revealed that his career path shifted dramatically after encountering a young and phenomenally talented 2Baba—then known as Tuface—who was also a student at the same institution. Both were scheduled to perform at a campus event, but Klint da Drunk’s experience as an audience member changed everything.
“I used to be a musician until 2Face got admitted to my school, IMT. One day, when he got on stage to perform at an event on campus, I left the hall. The organisers pleaded with me to stay back and perform when he is done,” he said.
“I accepted, but after hearing him sing just two lines, I went home. I didn’t know that my style and 2Face’s style were different. If I had known, I would have continued making music. But thank God I didn’t continue. I like where I am.”
Born Afamefuna Igwemba, Klint da Drunk has since built a successful career in the comedy industry based on his hilarious jokes and anecdotes. He has performed at numerous events across Nigeria and won several awards for his work.
