‘I didn’t carry any placard against Jonathan’ – Pastor Adeboye clarifies

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has addressed reports alleging that he carried a placard during a protest against former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Speaking at the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service, Adeboye denied leading or taking part in any demonstration against Jonathan’s administration.

He clarified that the event, which was widely perceived as a protest against the former president, was actually a prayer walk and march aimed at calling for an end to corruption in Nigeria, rather than an attempt to undermine Jonathan’s presidency.

The cleric added that he remains concerned about the country’s affairs and is willing to participate in any peaceful initiative aimed at promoting righteousness and good governance.

“I did not carry any placard against Jonathan. What we did was a march against corruption.

“I have never protested against any government. My own is to pray for those in authority,” Adeboye clarified.
