The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on behalf of the entire Nigeria Police Force, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun paid his respects to CP Frank Odita, the former spokesman, who was interred on Friday.
Former Force Public Relations Officer, Odita, who held the esteemed position from 1990 to 1992, passed away in June 2023 at the age of 84 after a short illness.
Odita was a revered figure within the Nigerian police institution and made a lasting impact in the field of Public Relations within the force.
In an official statement by police spokesman ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, IGP Egbetokun and the entire police force expressed their grief over the loss of a dedicated and highly respected retired colleague.
“IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun noted that CP Odita had made an indelible mark in the hearts of all who knew him and in the annals of the NPF,” Adejobi said.
Odita’s dedication and outstanding performance while serving as the Force PRO garnered him the esteem and appreciation of his colleagues, the media, and the general public.
He played a crucial role in elevating the reputation of the Nigeria Police Force and nurturing improved relationships with both the media and the community.
“The Inspector General of Police emphasized that his passing is a great loss to the NPF family, and his contributions to the Force will be remembered and cherished,” Adejobi stated.
As Odita is interred today, November 3, 2023, in his birthplace of Ibusa, Delta State, the IGP conveys the sincere condolences of the Police to his family and dear ones and offers prayers for his soul to rest in peace.
Egbetokun emphasized that Odita will be honored with deep respect and gratitude, and his legacy will serve as a continual source of inspiration as the Police work towards excellence in their responsibilities.
