The development means affected Band A customers did not receive the minimum electricity supply hours expected under the service category.

Band A customers are entitled to a minimum of 20 hours of electricity supply daily under the regulated service-based tariff structure.

The latest apology comes amid repeated reports of electricity supply shortfalls affecting some Band A customers on the Ikeja Electric network.

The company has yet to provide further details in the announcement supplied on the specific feeders affected and the reasons for the latest disruptions.

Ikeja Electric apologised for the inconvenience caused to its customers.

It also warned residents against trading, building or erecting structures beneath or close to electricity transmission lines, describing such activities as dangerous to lives and property.

The electricity distribution company gave the warning in a public safety advisory, urging members of the public to maintain the recommended safety clearance around power lines.

According to the company, power line corridors are high-risk zones, and activities carried out too close to electrical infrastructure could expose individuals and communities to serious danger.

It urged residents to avoid using areas beneath power lines for trading, construction or other activities that could compromise public safety.

“Stay clear. Stay safe. Your life matters!” the company advised.

Ikeja Electric also encouraged members of the public to seek safety guidance or make enquiries through its dedicated channels.

The company reiterated the importance of observing safety precautions around electricity infrastructure to protect lives and property.
