A Liberty TV/Radio journalist, Joel Waksi, declared missing few days ago has been found dead in Abuja.

The journalist was reportedly found dead on Wednesday — five days after he was declared missing.

Daily Trust reports that Balarabe Muhammad, Group General Manager of Atar Communication, owners of Liberty TV/Radio, confirmed the development.

According to Muhammad, the police in Mpape division in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) said the body of the deceased was seen around the Panteka area in the community and was taken to a morgue at a general hospital in Kubwa.

Muhammad said the journalist was stabbed and that his phone was missing.

“It was suspected that he was attacked by the phone snatchers,” Muhammad was quoted as saying.

“He was supposed to be on break till Monday, having worked at night. However, due to internal arrangements among colleagues during such public holidays, he was billed to report back to duty the next day afternoon, but he never did.’’
