JUST IN: Eight Kano lawmakers defect from NNPP to APC

Eight members of the House of Representatives from Kano State have announced their defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party to the All Progressives Congress.

The announcement was made on Tuesday during plenary, which was presided over by the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas.

In separate letters presented on the floor of the House, the lawmakers attributed their decision to the ongoing internal crisis within the NNPP.

The defection was witnessed by several prominent figures, including the Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf; the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; and a former Governor of the state, Abdullahi Ganduje, among others.
