JUST IN: Protesters storm EFCC headquarters, want Bello Matawalle’s investigation reopened

Numerous protesters from Zamfara State have taken over the entrance to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters, demanding that the agency restart its investigation into Bello Matawalle, the former governor of the state.

The demonstrators, acting through the APC Loyalists Forum, are requesting that the EFCC look into all of the petitions filed against the former governor, including the claims of contract diversion of up to N70 billion while he was the state’s governor.

Wilson Uwujaren, the Director of Public Affairs at the EFCC, who accepted the protest letter on the chairman’s behalf, gave the demonstrators the assurance that the commission is committed to seeing every corruption case through to a justifiable end.
