The Supreme Court has upheld the election victory of Abdullahi Sule as the governor of Nasarawa State.
The governor was initially removed by the state election petition tribunal, which declared David Ombugadu, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, as the winner of the March 18, 2023 election.

However, the appeal court reinstated Abdullahi Sule, asserting that the tribunal had erroneously relied on the evidence of eight PDP witnesses, whose statements on oath were not submitted alongside the petition.
Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, reading the lead judgment, stated that the appeal lacks merit.
