JUST IN: Supreme Court reserves judgment in Kebbi gov dispute

The Supreme Court has deferred its decision in an appeal aiming to remove Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

On Tuesday, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, leading a five-member panel at the apex court, declared, following the final submissions from lawyers representing the parties, that the judgment had been reserved. Parties will be notified once it is prepared for delivery.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the recent governorship election in Kebbi State, Major General Aminu Bande, is seeking to overturn the Court of Appeal’s decision, which upheld Nasir Idris’ election, as previously affirmed by the election tribunal.
