In light of the recent unintentional military air strike in Tudun Biri village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, urges the Federal Government to allocate sufficient funds to the military and other security agencies to bolster their operations.

Obi issued the appeal during his Tuesday visit to the victims at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in the state capital.

He expressed sorrow over the country’s tally of 16 unintentional military bombings, resulting in over 500 fatalities, criticizing the Federal Government for not taking preventive actions to avert the recurrence of such tragedies. The former governor of Anambra State, however, emphasized the necessity for the government to assist the military, preventing incidents like accidental bombings from happening again.

Obi highlighted the crucial role of adequate funding for the military in addressing the nation’s contemporary and emerging security challenges.

He endorsed calls for an investigation into the military air strike and proposed the establishment of a foundation to support the victims of the Tudun Biri drone attack, particularly those orphaned by the incident.
