Kano Govt refutes reports of criticism on N500bn palliatives

The Kano State Government has denied claims that it was opposed to the N500 billion palliatives distribution formula proposed by the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government.

In a statement, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, denied and distanced himself from the misinformation.

The reports, according to the Deputy Governor’s Press Secretary, “falsely claimed that he criticised the administration led by President Tinubu for the allocation formula of N500 billion, which was allocated through the Bank of Industries to support small-scale industries across the country.”

Shuaibu clarified the context of the Deputy Governor’s remarks, stating, “Comrade Gwarzo had referred to a news segment he watched on Thursday morning featuring Senator Ali Ndume, who expressed concerns about the allocation formula”.

The press secretary emphasised that at no point did the Deputy Governor mention the name of the President in his statement.

He stated, “The Deputy Governor, in reaffirming the commitment of the Kano state government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, assured that they remain steadfast in supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for a peaceful and united Nigeria.”
