Katsina Gov approves N248m for starter packs to craft village graduate trainees

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Radda, on Monday, approved N248 million for the provision of starter packs to 634 graduate trainees at the Katsina Youth Craft Village.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming unemployed youth from passive recipients into active contributors to the economy.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, this initiative is in line with the administration’s goal of transitioning youth from unproductive environments to meaningful economic activities.

“By providing these starter packs, we are not just offering support, but creating pathways for sustainable livelihoods and economic independence for our youth,” the statement added.

The Center Coordinator of the Katsina Youth Craft Village, Engineer Kabir Kofar-Soro, emphasized that the program aims to ensure that, trainees meet both national and international skills standards, positioning them as potential job creators in their local communities.

Kofar-Soro, further urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the government gesture.

“This comprehensive approach underscores the state government’s dedication to nurturing human capital and creating sustainable economic opportunities”, he added.
