Former Kano State Governor and National Democratic Coalition (NDC) vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has dismissed reports circulating online that suggest he is organizing a protest in response to the country’s worsening security situation.

In a statement issued on Monday, Kwankwaso described the viral message as untrue, saying it neither represents his views nor those of his political party. He also cautioned the public against sharing misleading information.

“Our attention has been drawn to a message currently circulating on social media falsely claiming that we are planning a protest over the rising insecurity in the country,” he said.

Kwankwaso emphasized that he and his party reject any activity capable of disrupting peace or causing damage to lives and property.

“We do not support any action that could lead to the breakdown of public order or the destruction of lives and property,” he said.

He noted that the coalition remains dedicated to lawful and peaceful methods of tackling national issues, maintaining that democratic channels are the proper means of achieving political change.

“As responsible leaders, we remain committed to peaceful and constructive approaches in addressing national challenges,” he said.

Kwankwaso also argued that political concerns should be addressed through elections rather than street demonstrations, expressing optimism about the party’s chances in the forthcoming polls.

“As committed democrats, we firmly believe that the ballot box remains the most legitimate and effective way to express grievances and seek change. Our party, the NDC, is confident of securing a resounding victory in the upcoming elections through peaceful democratic means,” he said.

He called on Nigerians to ignore the circulating message and refrain from spreading what he described as misinformation.
