A heated exchange has broken out between actor Lege Miami and Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali following Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The dispute began after the Super Eagles were defeated by the Democratic Republic of Congo last Sunday, a loss that ended Nigeria’s World Cup hopes for the second time in a row.

In the aftermath, Nwabali faced intense public criticism.

Joining in, Lege Miami — born Kehinde Adams — faulted the Chippa United goalkeeper online, accusing him of “playing too much” during the match. He also made a personal remark involving Nwabali’s late father.

Nwabali fired back on Instagram, warning the actor to stop mentioning his father in his “content”, stressing his respect for the dead and issuing a stern warning.

Lege Miami later offered a partial apology for mentioning the late father, but quickly shifted back to criticizing Nwabali, accusing him of being “very rude”, trying to “control the whole pitch”, and engaging in too much “hanky-panky” instead of focusing on his goalkeeping duties.

He further argued that the goalkeeper did not inspire confidence in his teammates and made avoidable errors, insisting Nwabali had no right to insult him in private messages.

Lege concluded by saying he held back from going further only because of Osimhen and Calvin Bassey, urging Nwabali to apologise publicly to Nigerians.
