Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has dismissed the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Toyin Balogun, in a minor cabinet reshuffle announced on Wednesday.
She has been replaced by Faosat Sanni, with the change taking immediate effect.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued in Ibadan by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju.
According to the statement, the governor approved the adjustment as part of a broader reorganisation within the cabinet, leading to Balogun’s exit and Sanni’s redeployment to the ministry.
Makinde appreciated the outgoing commissioner for her service to the state and wished her well in her future endeavours.
Sanni is not new to the ministry, having previously served as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion between 2019 and 2023 before holding other portfolios within the state executive council.
The reshuffle also comes shortly after the governor forwarded a commissioner-nominee to the State House of Assembly for screening, alongside several new appointments across different sectors.
Among the latest appointments, Ifeoluwa Akande was named Chairman of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Upgrade Committee, while Isola Adekunle became Executive Adviser on Intra-Party Affairs and Oladejo Oladokun was appointed as a part-time member of the Local Government Service Commission.
A statement signed by the Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, confirmed that all appointments take effect from July 1, 2026. The governor also urged the appointees to show commitment and dedication in their new roles.
The latest shake-up follows an earlier cabinet reshuffle in January 2026, during which several key changes were made within the state executive council, including the replacement of top government officials and reassignment of commissioners.
