The Nigerian Air Force has intensified its offensive against insurgents in Borno State, carrying out airstrikes on terrorist hideouts and support structures in Biramiri, located within the Gezuwa area.

According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, the operation was launched after intelligence gathered through surveillance missions confirmed terrorist activity in the location.

The strikes reportedly damaged critical infrastructure used by the insurgents and led to the deaths of several fighters.

“The coordinated attacks destroyed key terrorist facilities and neutralised several fighters, further crippling the operational capacity of the insurgents,” he stated.

Ejodame said the continued bombardment of terrorist positions around the Sambisa axis has disrupted the activities of the insurgents and weakened their ability to operate effectively.

He explained that intelligence reports point to increasing panic and uncertainty among the fighters, as sustained military pressure has restricted their movement and reduced access to secure locations.

Reaffirming the military’s commitment to restoring peace in the North-East, the NAF spokesperson said collaboration with Operation Hadin Kai and other security agencies remains strong.

“The NAF, in concert with troops of Operation Hadin Kai and other security agencies, remains resolute in maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist networks while reinforcing its commitment to protecting innocent lives and restoring lasting peace and security across the North-East,” the statement added.
