NDLEA seizes 1,458.7kg drugs, nabs103 suspects in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it seized 1,458.709kg of illicit substances in December.

The information was conveyed through a statement released on Tuesday to the News Agency of Nigeria by the Press Officer of the agency, Shuaibu Omale.

Omale specified that the illicit substances confiscated comprised cocaine, heroin, cannabis, tramadol, methamphetamine, and various other psychotropic substances.

Additionally, the spokesperson mentioned that the command had apprehended 103 individuals, encompassing drug traffickers, dealers, and drug users.

Olame added that the command gas carried out numerous sensitisation programmes across the state with the aim of enlightening the citizenry on the ills associated with drug use and illicit trafficking.

He said, “It is paramount to note that 26 illicit drug joints were also dismantled while the command secured sux convictions and arraigned 24  suspects with the month of December 2023.”
