The Nigerian actress, Juliana Olayode has obtained a degree in counselling and psychotherapy.
In an Instagram post, the film star shared photos from her graduation, revealing she earned the qualification from Attitude Development International College of Counselling and Psychotherapy in Ikeja, Lagos.
She explained that her passion for helping others heal inspired the decision, noting that her personal life experiences played a major role in her pursuit of professional training.
Olayode added that despite the challenges of combining her studies with other responsibilities, she completed the programme because it is the “path God wanted for me”.
She also expressed appreciation to God, her family, and supporters who stood by her throughout the journey.
“Another degree in the bag. Counselling people has always come naturally to me. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing people heal, grow, and experience real transformation,” she wrote.
“My desire to become a therapist was born from a deep longing to see people whole again. I have walked through painful and traumatic seasons, so l understand what pain looks like. I know what it means to smile while hurting, to carry heartache through sleepless nights, and to bear wounds so deep they touch every part of your life. Because of that, I knew I wanted more than personal experience or knowledge from books. I wanted the right training, wisdom, and tools to truly help people heal.
“For a long time, it stayed as a desire in my heart until I became certain it was the path God wanted for me. Today, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude to God because I can now officially call myself a professional therapist and counsellor. The journey was not easy.
“There were moments I almost gave up because of how demanding it was, trying to balance it with work and other responsibilities. But God carried me through. I’m grateful to my family, who encouraged, supported, prayed for me, and stood by me.”
She further described the experience as transformative, noting that while learning to help others, she also experienced personal healing.
“Interestingly, while learning how to help others heal, I found healing myself again. It was stretching, enlightening, beautiful, and truly life-changing. I’m so excited for this new chapter and honoured to now serve people as a professional therapist and counsellor,” she added.
“Even more special, I get to do it with God, the ultimate Counselor, Therapist, and Healer. So please allow me to reintroduce myself: I am Juliana Olayode, professional therapist and counsellor, executive producer, producer, actor, author, speaker, influencer, purity advocate, and most importantly, God’s favourite baby. None of this would be possible without my Father, Oranmonisefayati.”
