The Nigeria Revenue Service says it generated ₦28.3 trillion in revenue by December 2025.

The Executive Director for Government and Large Taxpayers, Mrs Amina Kurawa, said the figure marks a rise of over 30 per cent compared with the ₦25.5 trillion recorded in 2024. She spoke at a staff retreat organised by the service, noting that the non-oil sector drove most of the revenue collected.

Looking ahead, the agency has set a revenue target of ₦40.7 trillion for the 2026 fiscal year. It said stronger non-oil earnings and improved royalty-based collections would support the target.

The service also expects Company Income Tax, Value Added Tax and the Development Levy to lead growth in non-oil tax receipts in 2026.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the agency, Zacch Adedeji, urged staff to improve performance, stressing that transparency and accountability remain at the heart of its operations.
