The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Agboola Ajayi, secured victory in his polling unit.

Agboola, who cast his vote at Apoi Ward II, Unit 004 in Kiribo, Ese Odo Council Area on Saturday, received 194 votes, defeating his primary opponent, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered only 3 votes.

The former deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi, cast his vote at his polling unit alongside his wife, amidst a heavy presence of security agencies, including the Nigerian Police and Civil Defence.

The couple arrived at the polling station around 10:36 a.m. and were allowed to vote ahead of others in the queue.

They were accredited at approximately 10:45 a.m., briefly interacted with other voters, and then departed the polling unit in his black Jeep.

After voting, Agboola voiced his dissatisfaction with the conduct of the election, alleging significant irregularities in the ongoing governorship poll.
