Maxwell Okpara, legal counsel to Dr. Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, also known as Grace Nation Liberation City, has issued a stern warning to self-acclaimed activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly called VeryDarkMan, and a young woman identified as Miss Chi, who claims to be the pastor’s daughter.

Addressing journalists on Wednesday, Okpara demanded an immediate end to what he described as sustained cyber attacks, bullying, harassment, stalking and criminal defamation directed at his client.

He called for the prompt withdrawal of all alleged false, malicious and defamatory statements concerning Pastor Okafor, alongside a public apology to be published in two national newspapers and forwarded to relevant authorities. The lawyer also demanded an end to all claims or insinuations of any familial relationship with Okafor, the removal of online content linking the cleric to alleged paternity or abandonment, and a DNA test by the young woman and her sibling at a mutually agreed reputable facility, should an earlier claimed DNA certificate not be produced.

Okpara warned that failure to comply with these demands would compel his client to explore all available legal options to defend his reputation, integrity and ministry.

In a detailed statement read at the briefing, Okpara said his client had become aware of what he termed cyber incitement, harassment, stalking, impersonation and defamation allegedly carried out by VeryDarkMan and the woman known as Miss Chi. He noted that while similar allegations had previously surfaced and were under investigation by law enforcement agencies, a fresh wave of online claims had emerged despite the unresolved nature of earlier cases.

According to him, the young woman has been presenting herself online as Pastor Okafor’s biological daughter and making allegations of abandonment and neglect, which he described as false, misleading and malicious.

He disclosed that a formal warning letter had been sent to VeryDarkMan, accusing him of using various social media platforms to harass, defame and incite the public against the pastor under the guise of activism, without making any effort to hear his side of the story.

The counsel narrated events surrounding Pastor Okafor’s past relationship, stating that during the early years of his ministry, a woman claimed to be pregnant for him, leading to a marriage. He said subsequent events, including the pastor’s abduction and alleged conduct of the woman during that period, raised serious concerns.

Okpara claimed that following disagreements, a DNA test was conducted, which reportedly showed that the children were not biologically related to Pastor Okafor. He said the certificate was allegedly in the possession of the children’s mother and challenged her to make it public.

He added that despite the outcome of the test, Pastor Okafor had continued to support the children’s education and welfare out of compassion, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as acceptance of paternity.

Reiterating the demands, Okpara insisted on an immediate retraction and apology, cessation of all claims of family ties, submission to a DNA test where necessary, and the removal of all defamatory online content. He warned that failure to comply would result in legal action to safeguard Pastor Okafor’s name and ministry.
