A fatal accident occurred in Ago, Okota, Lagos, today, Tuesday, when a tricycle was struck by a vehicle being pursued by a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) official. The pregnant woman and her two children on the tricycle were killed.

The tricycle driver tragically lost his life in the accident.

According to eyewitnesses, one of the LASTMA officials at Okota Roundabout attempted to take control of a moving Toyota Sienna vehicle from the driver. The driver was allegedly in violation of traffic rules.

As a result of this intervention, the vehicle reportedly lost control and collided with a tricycle on Bayo Oyewale Street. Tragically, the tricycle driver also lost his life in the incident.

The pregnant woman was reportedly on her way to drop her children off at school when the tragic incident occurred.

This event led to a protest, with an angry crowd confronting the LASTMA official. Fortunately, a group of policemen arrived just in time to prevent the official from being attacked. They deployed tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd.

The officers also removed the barricade that the protesters had set up on the road and escorted the LASTMA official away from the scene.
