Police thwart attack in Katsina, neutralize suspected bandit

Katsina State police officers successfully thwarted an assault on Sabuwa town, which serves as the administrative center of the Sabuwa local government area. During the operation, they neutralized one individual believed to be a bandit.

ASP Abubakar Aliyu, the police spokesperson, relayed this information to reporters on Thursday in Katsina.

He indicated that on April 17, 2024, around 5 p.m., they received intelligence suggesting that a group of suspected bandits, armed with AK-47 rifles and riding motorcycles, were heading toward Sabuwa town with the intention to carry out an attack.

Upon receiving the report, he mentioned, the DPO of Sabuwa promptly assembled a team of operatives, comprising personnel from Operation Sharan Daji and the Community Watch Corps, who swiftly moved to the location.
