President Buhari arrives Madinah for lesser pilgrimage, official visit

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, where he will begin an eight-day official visit.

According to reports, the President’s aircraft took off from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Monday at 9:10 a.m. and landed at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdullaziz International Airport in Madinah at around 17:00 p.m. local time.

The president would do the Taraweeh prayer at the Mosque Nabawi while in Madinah before leaving for Makkah via Jeddah late on Wednesday for the shorter trip.

In a statement released on Monday, the president’s spokesperson, Malam Garba Shehu, said that Buhari’s upcoming official visit to the Kingdom from April 11 to April 19 will be his final as president.

According to reports, the president’s most recent Umrah was in 2021. (NAN)
