Senate President Godswill Akpabio has responded to social media reports claiming that the Department of State Services (DSS) had surrounded the National Assembly due to a possible impeachment threat against principal officers.
The reports alleged that the secret police had taken control of all entrances to the assembly complex on Tuesday.

He cautioned the public to be aware and not adhere to the allegation he described as fake news. He equally jocularly referred the matter to the committee on special duties chaired by Senator Shehu Kaka for further investigation and report back in 24 hours.
