The Federal Government is preparing to hold a National Economic Council (NEC) conference, which will be chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The meeting is expected to focus on strategies for improving economic coordination and fostering inclusive development across all 36 states of the federation.

The development was made public on Sunday in a statement issued by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President.

The conference, which will hold at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, is being convened by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

Governors from all states, key national stakeholders, development partners, and private-sector leaders are expected to attend.

Themed “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan,” the two-day summit will focus on macroeconomic priorities, fiscal coordination, investment mobilization, and shared development strategies between the federal and state governments.

According to Dr Deborah Oko Odo, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and Secretary of the NEC, the conference aims to “encourage economic growth and development across the country” and provide policy direction aligned with the Federal Government’s long-term economic agenda.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve as a Special Guest of Honour at the conference, which forms part of the federal government’s ongoing reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The NEC Conference is expected to produce actionable strategies that will accelerate sustainable development and inclusive economic growth across the federation.
