Sultan of Sokoto and President, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) , Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has declared Monday 27th January, 2020 as the first day of Jumada Assaniya 1441AH.
The declaration according to the Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs in conjunction with the National Moon Sighting Committee is sequel to the non receipt of from various moon committees confirming the sighting of the new moon of Jumada Assaniya 1441AH last Saturday, 25th January, 2020 which was equivalent to 29th Jumadal Ula1441AH.
However, contained in a statement dated 26th January , 2020 made available to newsmen Monday by Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, Wazirin Sokoto and Chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, “Abubakar accepted the report and declared Monday 27th January, 2020 as first day of Jumada Assaniya1441AH accordingly”, Junaidu said in the state.
