In Adamawa State, a fight between residents of two towns claimed the lives of three people.

Situated in the local government areas of Demsa and Numan, the communities are Selti and Kpasham, as stated in a statement released by the Police Command early on Wednesday.

The statement signed by Adamawa Police spokesman Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, reads: “Following the report of a communal violence at Selti and Kpasham Villages of Numan and Demsa local government areas that resulted in the death of three, the Commissioner of Police Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris, personally led a team of Police operatives to the scene.”

The statement added that the commissioner’s team patrolled, assessed and restored order, and that the communities are now calm.

The Police added that having restored normalcy, investigation is still ongoing to detect and apprehend the perpetrators and  collaborators of the violence.

“The CP assured that the perpetrators of this act will be diligently prosecuted as the Command would not fold its arms  and allow few among the residents to disrupt the peace of the state,” the Police added.
