Tinubu mourns former speaker, Ghali Na’abba

President Bola Tinubu has offered his sympathies on the passing of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’Abba.

This information was disclosed on Wednesday in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngalale.

The statement partly read, “President Bola Tinubu sympathises with the Na’Abba family, the government, and the people of Kano State over the passing of Ghali Umar Na’Abba (CFR), former Speaker of the House of Representatives.”

“The late Na’Abba was Speaker of the House Representatives following the return of democracy in Nigeria from 1999 to 2003, succeeding Salisu Buhari.”

The statement further conveyed that the President, while lamenting the loss, remembered the late former lawmaker’s contributions to nation-building, citing his impact through legislation, advocacy, and policy.

It read, “The President recalls Speaker Na’Abba’s determined struggle to defend the functionality and role of the legislature in governance, describing him as a disciplined and resolute politician.

“President Tinubu prays for the repose of the soul of the departed and comfort for those who mourn this painful loss.”

According to reports, Ghali Na’Abba, the eighth Speaker of the House of Representatives, passed away in Abuja on Wednesday morning.
