A former member representing Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Oghene Egoh, has commended President Bola Tinubu for what he described as progress in infrastructure development and economic reforms.

Speaking with journalists in Lagos on Sunday, Egoh said the administration had shown strong commitment to national development through strategic projects and policy measures.

He noted that ongoing road infrastructure projects reflect a deliberate effort to reposition the country for sustainable growth.

He highlighted the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a major transformative project expected to improve coastal connectivity, boost tourism, and expand trade and the blue economy across several states.

Egoh also praised the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, saying it would strengthen north-south trade routes, improve agricultural logistics, and enhance national unity.

He further referenced progress on the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, describing them as evidence of renewed focus on critical transport corridors.

According to him, “The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is one of the most important economic corridors in Nigeria, and its near completion under President Tinubu is commendable.”

He also mentioned the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway and the Bodo-Bonny Road expansion as projects improving movement of goods and people across regions.

Egoh praised the use of reinforced concrete pavement for major highways, saying it would enhance durability and reduce maintenance costs.

On economic reforms, he stated that “Tinubu’s reforms, including fuel subsidy removal, foreign exchange adjustments, and infrastructure financing strategies, were laying the groundwork for long-term stability despite short-term challenges.”

He added that while reforms may be difficult, they require strong leadership and political will.

Egoh urged Nigerians to remain patient, expressing confidence that the benefits of the ongoing reforms and infrastructure projects would become more visible over time.
