[TRENDING VIDEO] “I will clear everyone down,” Netizens reacts as Police officer threatens shooting over filming him on duty
In a now viral video, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Newton Isokpehi, a veteran with 26 years of service, has sparked national outrage after sharing a now-deleted TikTok video in which he threatened to “clear everybody down” if recorded while on duty. In the inflammatory clip, he went as far as to reference the Inspector-General of Police in relation to burials.
In his words, “any day I’m on duty as an officer, if I’m with my riffle and working, and someone tries to video me — that officer who told you to video us, he will be responsible for your burial. He will bury you. Whatever number you are, that’s how many I will kill, and he will be the one to bury you.
“God will punish anyone who videos me while I’m on duty performing my lawful duty as a Nigerian police officer. In 2026, we are still suffering. Every day, suffering. Even if you can’t pay us anything, you can’t give us good conditions, you can’t do anything for us. You have no capability to care for our lives.
“When someone dies, you don’t care. It’s not like this. The new Inspector General who just came in is now trying to amend things, trying to help people and look after them. Look at people whose fathers died years ago — since the new IG came in, he’s started giving them their insurance and benefits.
“Before, others just worked like monkeys while the bosses ate. Look at my body now — bullet wounds, gunshot wounds are all over me. See how we suffer. Look at my body, these are gunshot wounds.
“God will punish anyone well. Just keep your camera and watch me well. Bring your camera anywhere I am. Come and make the mistake of videoing me, even if you’re there, I will clear everyone down — the whole full bus, anywhere. Except if the person isn’t standing near you when you’re recording, I will clear everyone down. I swear to God, if I don’t do it now, I’ll die.
“God will punish anyone well. Come and video me. That officer who told you to video police officers on duty — go ahead, you’ll get into trouble. You’ll see, wallahi, you’ll see problems that will affect your generation.
“Look at this idiot. You can’t go anywhere, you can’t learn a trade, you can’t do anything, but you have the power to harass police. Why don’t you go and video soldiers when they’re working, or the TSS and all the police who carry weapons on their heads every time? Problems will kill you.”

Here are some of the reactions.
Harrison (@HarrisonGwamnishu): A Police officer is threatening the entire nation that if you video him on duty, he will kill you. Please watch and share so the authorities can take him off our road.
Enock_Jr (@gpon_specialist): Not supporting his outburst but this is what happens from decades of neglect and lack of proper welfare. He mentioned they don’t supply them kits and they pay for almost everything with their money. It’s so sad what our country has become.
Big Sam | Social media m. (@dammiedammie35): They should take this one back to police college and retrain him. He is frustrated.
FASH GLOBAL TECH (@fashglobaltech): This is wild… the law threatening the people it’s meant to protect. 😡 Imagine being caught recording and facing danger instead of justice.
Victor Kolawole (@vickylincoln): What we are seeing on the outside is as a result of decades of inner fight caused by poor welfare structure for the police officers.
Ojukwu Di Ndu (@DiOjukwu): This is a serious thr£ate o, it should no be taken lightly, I don’t know who force you into police.
When (@Marvel10938107): There’s something Nigerian are missing, can you not see the people in police that are making threats and causing issues are ASP, how did they get to that level with the stupidity and ignorance around them somehow they might have been promoted without evaluation.
CashityoungFx (@CashityoungFx): If you see this officer on the road you better kill him before he kills you is called self defense.
Nozy Funky Diablo (@Diablo): How someone with this kind of mentality even gets recruited into the Nigerian Police Force needs to be seriously questioned. It’s crazy how he can boldly come online to threaten the same citizens whose tax money pays his salary.
Baba Voss (@Shevhas): Any serious senate house will demand the police investigate him and await a response from the police department! Guess that won’t be happening.
IFY (@BrimeEnuel): @PoliceNG is he meant to remain in the police force, I hope you act fast.
obinna bruno (@BrunoObinn9): Not only drug test, psychiatric Evaluation, all officers most do this.
BLIZZO (@hydee_blizzo): Dem go dey recruit criminals and wicked old people into police force
Boywow (@boywowdeyhere): The man has 4 kids and he about to make them regret ever coming from him. Chai.
Foundational Nupe Lawyer (@FoundationalNupeLawyer): Beyond the call to apprehend this police officer, which I believe is the right call, can we take a minute to pause and address the root cause of this problem? He identified and lamented over the worsened state of the welfare of policemen and poor salaries. What is being done to address it?
Benkingsley Nwashara (@BenkingsleyNwashara): Hear what a Nigerian police officer is saying. These people are evil. “Any day I’m on duty as a Nigerian police officer, let anyone record me. That person that said you should video me will Bury you that day. That person will provide the officer who gave them the order to be filming us, because I will clear everybody down”
IRUNNIA (@Irunnia_): In a sensible country, the DPO in charge of this man’s unit would have called him for questioning and psych evaluation.
Chude (@Chude_ND1): “Any day I’m on duty as a Nigerian police officer, let anyone record me. That person will provide the officer who gave them the order to be filming us, because I will clear everybody down” – Man suspected to be a personnel says. I hope the Nigeria @PoliceNG are seeing this?
Top Gun🐼 (@mukhtar_usman): When you see a uniform man confidently talking about k!lling civilians especially in open spaces, Just know that it’s not their first time and they’re already used to it. The police should get this animal off the streets immediately.
Amber Ose I (@masurge7): I won’t be shocked that this one has killed civilians before.
