Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has refuted claims linking her to the alleged re-arrest of X influencer Big Ayo, following their earlier online dispute in 2024.

Responding on Tuesday, the actress described the report as false and misleading, explaining that she had no role in any arrest and was on a film set when the allegation began circulating.

“Arrest Ayo as how, pls this is fake and false news. I’m on set filming. Pls kindly disregard. I didn’t get Ayo or anyone arrested; it’s all love from me. Thank you and I will advise to kindly take this down pls,” she said.

The allegation stemmed from a now-deleted post by an X user, Khan, who claimed that Big Ayo had been re-arrested at the instance of the actress.

Another user, Prince Adeshina, dismissed the claim, stating that Abraham was at a movie location at the time and had no connection to any arrest. The actress later reposted the clarification.

“For the attention of the general public: Toyin Abraham was at a movie location and did not arrest Ayo,” the statement read.

“We urge the general public to consider the circulating report as fake news. Furthermore, the author of said report has been put on notice that, when called upon, he will be required to present evidence to support his claims”.

The controversy is linked to events in July 2024, when Abraham took legal action over alleged cyberbullying.

At the time, she stated that Big Ayo was arrested after making offensive remarks about her family, contrary to claims that another individual had been detained.

The influencer had also accused the actress of using politically connected funds for personal matters, a claim that sparked backlash.

Abraham defended her decision to involve law enforcement then, citing repeated online attacks and emotional distress.
