Students of University of Ibadan have begun a peaceful protest over the disruption of basic amenities on campus, following the ongoing strike by the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU).
The students are calling on the Federal Government to address the demands of the striking union in order to bring the industrial action to an end.
Demonstrators marched within the campus in Ibadan, demanding the restoration of essential services such as electricity, water, and other facilities largely managed by non-academic staff.
They expressed concern over the hardship caused by the strike, noting that it has significantly disrupted academic activities and daily life on campus.
The students urged the government to urgently engage with the striking unions through dialogue, with a view to resolving the dispute and restoring normal operations at the institution.
