The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has issued an ultimatum to persons who illegally erected structures at the Abuja Technology Village to relocate or risk facing the wrath of the law.
On Monday, while inspecting the site in Pyakasa, Abuja, with the Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, the minister disclosed this information.
The FCT minister asserts that in 2015, the Federal Government reached a settlement with the unauthorised inhabitants, mandating their relocation.
Nonetheless, the dwellings continued to proliferate, necessitating the implementation of drastic measures to further convey the government’s message.
The minister of science and technology, for his part, stated that the Abuja Technology Village is a highly valuable repository for emerging technologies that the federal government intends to implement; therefore, it is essential to delineate the area in order to attract investors and advance the government’s objectives.
