Police arrest 36 suspects for armed robbery, kidnapping in Adamawa
The Police Command in Adamawa, has arrested 36 suspects in connection with kidnappings, armed robbery and other crimes in the state.
Mr Olugbenga Adeyanju, the state’s Commissioner of Police said this while addressing newsmen on Tuesday in Yola.
Adeyanju said that among the suspects were seven suspected rapists and three car snatchers.
” Among the items recovered from the suspects are three AK 47 rifles, two single barrel guns and one G3 rifle.
” Other items recovered are 199 rounds of lives ammunition, one tractor ,two vehicles, a single barrel pistol and N60,000 cash, ” Adeyanju said.
He said that the suspects were apprehended by the command’s Intelligent Department Operatives following reports from different parts of the state.
Adeyanju said that all the 36 suspects had confessed to their crimes and they would soon be charged to court.
Similarly, the command had rewarded six officers for dedication to duty and two civilians for volunteering information to the command.
According to the commissioner, the achievements recorded so far by the command were with the support of hardworking officers and some respectable residents of the state.
