Reactions have continued to trail the Super Eagles’ triumph over South Africa’s Bafana Bafana during the semi-final match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held on Wednesday.
NewsClick Nigeria reports that Nigeria secured a 4-2 victory over South Africa through a penalty shootout in the semi-final stage, with Stanley Nwabali making crucial saves for two penalties.
The game concluded with a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes of play. Jose Peseiro’s men will now face Ivory Coast in the final this weekend.
Reacting shortly after the match, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, in a tweet said: “Today was yet another victorious outing for Nigeria as our National Team, the Super Eagles displayed great fighting spirit, beating the Bafana Bafana of South Africa to take Nigeria to the finals in the ongoing AFCON games.”
