Nigerian attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi has joined Fulham from Con transfer deadline day for an undisclosed fee.

Alex Iwobi’s impressive performances for Everton helped him secure a move to the London side this season.

The ex-Arsenal player will once again collaborate with Portuguese manager Marco Silva, reuniting after their brief stint together at Goodison Park in 2019.

The Super Eagles standout revealed the rationale behind his decision to leave Everton and make the move to Fulham on transfer deadline day.

“Marco Silva spoke to me and told me about the ambitions of the club[Fulham], and where he wants to go,” Iwobi told the club’s official website.

“I’m on board, and I’m hoping I can bring something to Fulham. He wants to challenge things, and I feel like he gave me a confidence boost. I hope I’m able to repay the faith.”

The inclusion of Iwobi and his Nigerian compatriot, Calvin Bassey, in the Fulham squad might enhance their chances of securing a spot in Europe for the upcoming season.

Despite an impressive performance in the English Premier League last season, the Cottagers fell short of qualifying for European competitions. However, they are setting their sights on achieving that goal in the 2023/24 season.
