Arsenal have shown interest in acquiring Aston Villa goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old Netherlands international made the switch to Aston Villa in June on a three-year contract, joining from FC Twente on a free transfer.
Despite interest from various Women’s Super League (WSL) clubs, including Arsenal, who reportedly sought her signature in January, Villa successfully secured her services.
Van Domselaar, who has featured in 14 of Villa’s 15 WSL matches this season, has a release clause of approximately £200,000.
Her impressive performances at Euro 2022 and her inclusion in the Netherlands squad for the Women’s World Cup last summer garnered attention.
Villa acquired her as a replacement for former number one Hannah Hampton, who joined Chelsea on a free transfer in July.
Additionally, Villa saw midfielder Laura Blindkilde Brown, aged 20, depart for Manchester City on the January transfer deadline day after City triggered the £200,000 release clause in her contract.
