Bournemouth’s Danish midfielder, Philip Billing, has joined Serie A club Napoli on loan until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old has played just 10 matches for the Cherries this season, with only one start.
Billing, who has earned five international caps for Denmark, joined Bournemouth from Huddersfield in July 2019 and has since made 201 appearances for the club.
A pivotal figure in Bournemouth’s promotion from the Championship during the 2021-22 season, Billing contributed 10 goals and 10 assists that campaign.
He now joins Napoli, led by former Chelsea and Tottenham manager Antonio Conte, who are currently engaged in a tight three-way Serie A title race with Inter Milan and Atalanta.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth sit seventh in the Premier League, just three points shy of the top four.
The Cherries have bolstered their squad this month, signing USA Under-20 center-back Matai Akinmboni, 18, and Argentine-Paraguayan left-back Julio Soler, 19.
Additionally, manager Andoni Iraola has recalled striker Daniel Jebbison from his loan spell at Watford to address injuries to forwards Evanilson and Enes Unal.
