Celtic will engage in discussions with Police Scotland following reports of objects being thrown at staff during Sunday’s match against Rangers.
Television footage captured assistant manager John Kennedy’s reaction as coins and other items were seen landing in the dugout area.
This incident occurred during an intense game in which Rangers scored in injury time, resulting in a 3-3 draw.
Celtic said it was “totally unacceptable that our staff have once again been targeted in this way”.
A club spokesperson added: “We will be raising our serious concerns with Rangers and we understand that the matter is currently being investigated by Police Scotland.”
Police officers engaged with Celtic staff following reports of coins being thrown from a section of the Ibrox crowd situated behind the technical area.
This incident is part of a series of occurrences involving missile-throwing during recent encounters between the Glasgow clubs.
In April 2022, a Celtic physiotherapist was struck on the head by a glass bottle, and glass fragments were discovered in the Celtic penalty area during a match at Rangers’ home ground.
The subsequent month, Rangers expressed concerns that their supporters had been left “unprotected,” highlighting instances where elderly and disabled fans were injured by bottles and other projectiles thrown at Celtic Park.
During this period, Celtic also reported incidents where their supporters and stewards were struck by debris, including seats torn from the stands.
A spokesperson for Rangers confirmed that the club is cooperating with Police Scotland in their investigation into the latest incident.
Police Scotland said: “We are aware of an object being thrown at Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow, during the Rangers v Celtic match on Sunday.
“One man was struck but did not require treatment and inquiries are ongoing.”
