Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has called on his players to maintain focus and continue improving despite their comfortable victory over the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

Nigeria defeated Zimbabwe 2-0 in the semi-final of the Unity Cup in London, with debutant Femi Azeez scoring a brace to seal the win.

As the team prepares to face Jamaica in a repeat of last year’s final, Chelle stressed that the result against Zimbabwe is only part of a broader rebuilding process ahead of more demanding challenges.

“This is only a friendly game. This is not the World Cup qualifier. They need to work hard,” Chelle said after the match.

“They need to try to understand what I want, what the technical staff want, and the high level is difficult.”

The Malian coach also highlighted areas that still need improvement despite the result.

“So you see, we made some mistakes with the ball. For sure, tomorrow we work out,” he added.

The Super Eagles will now turn their attention to the Unity Cup final as Chelle continues shaping his squad and refining his tactical approach ahead of future competitive matches.
