Chelsea could launch a bid to sign Victor Osimhen in January. Osimhen, 24, is understood to be at the top of Todd Boehly’s transfer wishlist ahead of the January window.

Chelsea urgently seeks a striker to enhance their performance after a disappointing campaign last season.

Presently occupying the 10th position in the Premier League table, trailing 14 points behind the league leader, Chelsea’s club officials strongly believe securing a top-tier striker could notably enhance Mauricio Pochettino’s squad. As per talkSPORT reports, there is a possibility that Chelsea might pursue the in-form Osimhen.

Indications have been received that the Napoli star could potentially be on the market in January. However, it is anticipated that the Serie A champions will demand a substantial £120 million for his transfer. Chelsea, under Boehly’s ownership since May 2022, has already expended £1 billion in player acquisitions.

In January, Enzo Fernandez joined in a transfer valued at £107 million, and later, Moises Caicedo became the club’s record signing with a £115 million move to Stamford Bridge in August. If Chelsea successfully secures a deal for Osimhen, he will become the Premier League’s most expensive player.

Chelsea is one of several clubs that have shown interest in acquiring the services of the Napoli striker, with Arsenal and Manchester United also being linked to him.

Osimhen, who scored 31 goals across all competitions last season, has already netted six goals in 11 appearances this term.
