FIFA has confirmed that the winners of The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025 will be revealed during a special ceremony scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday, 16 December 2025.
The ceremony will be streamed live on FIFA.com, beginning at 20:00 local time (18:00 CET).
According to a statement released on Monday via FIFA’s X account, the awards event will be held a day before the final of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025, where Paris Saint-Germain will face CR Flamengo at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.
“The world’s top players and coaches will be honoured during the FIFA Celebration 2025 Dinner at the Fairmont Katara Hall in Doha.
“Ahead of the gala, several awards, including those for fans, goalkeepers, and goals, will be revealed through digital videos on FIFA platforms and across social media. The winner of the FIFA Fair Play Award will also be announced,” FIFA said.
The event is expected to attract around 800 attendees, including the FIFA President, members of the FIFA Council, FIFA Legends, officials from Member Associations worldwide, as well as football ambassadors from the host region and beyond.
FIFA disclosed that fans played a crucial role in the selection process, with over 16 million votes cast across various categories. Major awards — including The Best FIFA Women’s Player, The Best FIFA Men’s Player, The Best FIFA Women’s Coach, The Best FIFA Men’s Coach, The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper, and The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper — were decided through a voting system that equally weighted the input of fans, national team captains, national team coaches, and media representatives.
Fans also voted for The Best FIFA Women’s 11 and The Best FIFA Men’s 11. Meanwhile, voting for the FIFA Marta Award and the FIFA Puskás Award — which celebrate the best goals in women’s and men’s football — was split evenly between fans and a panel of FIFA Legends. The FIFA Fan Award was determined solely by fan votes, while the FIFA Fair Play Award was selected by an expert jury.
Football supporters across the globe will be able to watch the entire ceremony live and free on FIFA.com.
Paris Saint-Germain emerged as the most represented club among the nominees, with Ousmane Dembélé joined on the shortlist by teammates Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, and Vitinha.
In the women’s category, the award will be chosen from a list of 17 nominees, including Barcelona star Aitana Bonmatí. The reigning Ballon d’Or winner, who claimed the honour three months ago, is widely regarded as a strong favourite to triumph again in Doha. She is one of five Barcelona players nominated for the award.
