Everton win at Ipswich to extend unbeaten run

Everton extended their unbeaten streak to four Premier League matches with a 2-0 victory against winless Ipswich at Portman Road.

Iliman Ndiaye opened the scoring for the Toffees early on, taking advantage of some careless Ipswich defending to slot the ball home from close range for his third goal of the season.

More defensive lapses allowed Dwight McNeil to find Michael Keane, who fired a powerful left-foot shot from a tight angle to double Everton’s lead before halftime.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin wasted several opportunities to increase the scoreline for the Toffees both before and after the break.

While Ipswich showed plenty of effort and determination, they struggled to create clear chances, managing only two shots on target.

This victory marks Everton’s first away win in 16 matches across all competitions, a streak that dates back to last December.

The loss means Ipswich has set a new club record with eight consecutive games without a win to start a top-flight season.

Upwardly mobile Everton continue good run

After a difficult start, Everton’s season is beginning to gain momentum.

The Toffees lost their first four Premier League matches, conceding 13 goals and giving up 2-0 leads in games against Bournemouth and Aston Villa.

However, they have only allowed two goals since then, moving five points clear of the relegation zone and regaining some of the defensive solidity typical of Dyche’s teams.

This victory also ended a long wait for an away win, with their last coming in a 2-0 triumph at Burnley on December 16.

Everton maintained control over Ipswich for most of the match, with the Tractor Boys managing their first shot on target only after the 80-minute mark.

If there was any fault on Everton’s part, it was their inability to secure the victory with a third goal.

Calvert-Lewin had multiple opportunities to score, finding himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper twice but having his shots saved by Arijanet Muric.

Ndiaye was also thwarted by the Ipswich keeper after capitalizing on a defensive mistake by Dara O’Shea.

That wastefulness had previously cost them against Bournemouth and Villa, but this time the result was never in doubt.
