Brennan Johnson is set to be included in Crystal Palace’s squad for their Premier League clash against Newcastle on Sunday, following the completion of a club-record £35 million transfer from Tottenham.
The Wales international finalized the move on Friday, with Palace expected to make an official announcement within 24 hours.
Johnson had also been linked with Bournemouth, who were looking for a replacement for Antoine Semenyo, but after discussions with Palace manager Oliver Glasner on Thursday, he chose to join Selhurst Park.
The transfer surpasses the £27 million Palace paid for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke in 2016, setting a new record fee for the club.
Johnson, 24, moved to Spurs from Nottingham Forest in 2023 for £47.5 million and played a key role in their Europa League triumph last season, scoring the decisive goal that ended Tottenham’s 17-year wait for silverware.
However, his playing time this season under Spurs manager Thomas Frank has been limited, with Johnson scoring four goals in 22 appearances.
