Former Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo has died after collapsing during a football match in Kaduna.

According to a report by SCORENigeria, the 40-year-old slumped while playing at the Angwan Yelwa pitch in the Television area of the state.

Eneramo, who featured as a second-half substitute, reportedly collapsed without any contact during the game.

A source said, “He slumped and died right on the spot. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

“He was pronounced dead at the hospital.”

The former international had retired from professional football and previously played for clubs including Beşiktaş, Espérance Sportive de Tunis, and Lobi Stars.

Before his death, he was said to be running a football academy.

The official Super Eagles X account also mourned the late striker, posting his photo with the message, “Rest in peace Michael.”
