Fenerbahce have lodged an official complaint with the Turkish Football Federation ahead of their clash with rivals Galatasaray.
According to reports by T24 (via Tribuna), the complaint centres on Nigeria international Victor Osimhen and the protective arm gear he has been wearing following an injury.
Fenerbahce argue that the arm protector could pose a safety risk to opposing players and have supported their claim with a medical report referencing International Football Association Board (IFAB) regulations.
Osimhen recently returned to action after sustaining a broken arm during a UEFA Champions League match against Liverpool FC.
The striker had been sidelined for over a month before making his comeback as a substitute in a cup fixture.
With the high-stakes derby set to influence the Turkish Super Lig title race, tensions are already escalating off the pitch.
The Turkish federation will now decide whether Osimhen’s protective equipment meets safety standards.
Osimhen has recorded 12 goals and two assists in 19 league appearances this season.
