Ademola Lookman will be chasing his first major title with Atlético Madrid when they take on Real Sociedad in the 2026 Copa del Rey final at the Estadio de la Cartuja on Saturday.
The Nigerian international has quickly become a key figure at Atlético since joining from Atalanta in January, delivering standout performances in the club’s run to the final.
Lookman played a decisive role with goals and assists against Real Betis and Barcelona. He marked his debut with a goal in a 5-0 thrashing of Betis and also found the net in a 4-0 home win over Barcelona.
The 28-year-old winger has been directly involved in four goals—two goals and two assists—in just three matches in the competition. Across all competitions, he has contributed six goals and four assists in 17 appearances under manager Diego Simeone.
Atlético Madrid, known as the Colchoneros, are aiming to lift the Copa del Rey for the 11th time, having last won it in the 2012–2013 season.
Real Sociedad, on the other hand, are targeting a fourth title as they look to upset Atlético in the final showdown.
