Manchester United forward Benjamin Sesko has revealed that the players are enjoying greater freedom on the pitch under interim manager Michael Carrick.

Sesko spoke after netting the decisive goal in the Red Devils’ 3-2 victory against Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the striker pointed to Carrick’s message of expressive play, noting that it has gone hand in hand with a noticeable improvement in both performances and team spirit at Old Trafford.

“It’s true, he has said these things many times to the team. That’s exactly what we are doing,” he said.

Sesko added that the team’s success is not only down to attacking freedom but also to their collective effort when defending.

“But it’s not just that, you can see how much we work hard for each other without the ball and that also contributes to good results in the end.

“The work rate is definitely different. Everyone is on point and covering their spaces. In the end, that’s what counts.”
